How To Generate and Use Aadhaar Virtual ID Step By Step Guide

UIDAI has introduced a new base service named after the Virtual ID. By using the Virtual ID, you will be able to secure the data of your Aadhar card and avoid the misuse of the details of the Aadhaar card.

What is the Aadhaar Virtual ID?

Virtual ID is a service introduced for the protection of Aadhaar card. There is 16 numbers inside the virtual ID. Which can be used in place of the base number. The user has some important information inside the virtual ID such as name, date of birth, address, photo etc. After generating a Virtual ID, it is valid only for a while. That is why it can not be misused. You can generate your Aadhar card's Virtual ID as many times as you wish.

How to Generate Aadhaar Virtual ID

1.) To create aadhaar Virtual ID first, open the website of uidai first. (To open the website of uidai, open the website of uidai and uidai or type in the web site www.uidai.gov.in)

2.) After visiting UIDAI's website, click on "Virtual ID (VID) Generator" in the Aadhaar Services option.

3.) After that enter your base number and enter the security code given below and click Send OTP.

4.) After that, an OTP code will be sent to the mobile number which is registered in your Aadhaar card. Put that OTP code into the "Enter OTP" option.

5.) Then click on the "Generate VID" option given below.

6.) Then click Submit.

7.) After clicking on Submit, your mobile number will be sent to your 16 digit virtual ID through SMS on the mobile number that is registered in your Aadhaar card.


How to use virtual ID

You can use the virtual ID instead of your base number. Whenever you need to use the base number, you can generate and use your virtual ID. Generally you can generate the Virtual ID for your base card as many times as you wish. There is no limit to generating a base virtual ID.
