India’s fastest growing 4G network company Reliance Jio launched a very attractive plan in association with the Rajasthan state government. The Rajasthan government has decided to give the 1500 rupees live Jio phone for only 95 rupees to Bhamashah card holders. Under this scheme, phones will be distributed in all the assembly constituencies of Rajasthan by 10 November. Indeed, the Bhamashah Yojana was started on August 15, 2018 for connecting female empowerment and the residents of the state with core banking in Rajasthan.
Under this scheme, for the purchase of 95 rupees, Bhamashah card holders will have to pay 1095 rupees first.
After buying the phone, the first 500 rupees will be transferred directly to the customer's bank account.
After this, downloading the Bhamashah app in the Geo Phone will require your number to be validated. After Verification, 500 wk will be deposited in mobile wallet.
Reliance Jio, in association with the Rajasthan state government, has introduced an interesting and appealing offer for Jio Phone. With every new purchase of the Jio Phone, customers will get almost the entire sum back. Part of the payment will be through direct cash subsidy. The government will make the rest of the payment in Mobile wallet that buyers can use as normal digital currency with platforms like PayTM or any other recharge service.
The Jio Bhamashah Yojana is primarily meant for the citizens of Rajasthna state. Also, to benefit from the scheme, citizens must have Bhamashah Card Number, a unique identity provided by the Rajasthan state. Citizens will have to visit any store or retailer that sells the Jio Phone. They will have to purchase the feature phone by paying Rs. 1095 upfront.
The retailer will accept the Bhamashah Card Number during the purchase and enter the same into the online information repository. The number is quite similar to the AADHAR number, and is even connected to the citizens’ bank account. After the number is fed into the system, the state government will directly deposit Rs. 500 in the bank account that buyers have linked with the Bhamashah Card.
To avail the remaining Rs. 500, the new owners of the Jio Phone will have to download the Bhamashah app presumably on their newly activated phone. Upon activation, the government will deposit Rs. 500 in the Mobile wallet. Incidentally, the government has not set any conditions upon the usage of the balance in the Mobile Wallet. Citizens can use this digital currency as they normally would on services like PayTM or any other similar recharge or virtual payment service, including recharging their mobile phones.
In addition to the cash benefits, Reliance Jio is offering substantial data and calling benefits for the period of 6 months. Incidentally, Reliance Jio usually considers a month to be of 28 days. Hence the benefits could be valid for 168 days. Also, during the validity period, buyers of the Jio Phone through the Jio Bhamashah Yojana will get unlimited calling, subject to standard usage policy.
Apart from unlimited calling, the Jio Phone buyers will also get 126GB data. There’s no confirmation yet about how the data can be used. However, it is quite likely that Jio might restrict the usage to either 1GB, 1.5GB or 2GB per day. Also, the plan could also include some free SMSes per day as well.

- In the state, banks provide Bamashah card for their account holders.
